Women's Basketball Inks Kim Koeven to Letter of Intent

Koeven transferring from UNLV and will redshirt 07-08 season

OREM, Utah - Utah Valley women's basketball coach Cathy Nixon has announced the signing of Kim Koeven to a letter of intent. Koeven, a transfer from UNLV, will be a sophomore this coming fall and will redshirt the 2007-08 season due to transfer rules.

"Kim's strength is ability to shoot the long range jumper. She's a consistent three-point shooter," said Nixon. "She's a great person and with a year of D-I experience will be a great asset to our program."

Koeven is a 5-6 guard that appeared in 11 games as a freshman this past season for UNLV.

She prepped in South Carolina at Crestwood High where she was named Miss Basketball and a McDonald's All-America candidate her senior season.

Koeven joins a Utah Valley squad that is coming off of a 15-13 season, its most successful since making the jump to NCAA D-I athletics.
