OREM, Utah - Utah Valley returns to action after a 15-day layoff on Thursday at CSU Bakersfield in an 8pm (MT) tip-off. The game can be heard live at WolverineGreen.com while live stats can be accessed at GoRunners.com. It will be the first of 10 straight games against fellow Division I independent schools for Utah Valley, culminating in the Division I Independent Championship March 6-8 in Edinburg, Texas. The Wolverines have lost two straight overall and five straight on the road and sit at 13-5 on the season. Their most recent loss came January 8th at Denver, a lopsided 101-75 game that saw the Pioneers hit 64% from the field and 70% (14-for-20) from the three-point line. It's the first time that a school has scored 100 points against Utah Valley at the Division I level. Robyn Fairbanks continues to lead Utah Valley and all independents in several statistical categories. The Canadian junior is second in the country in scoring at 24.3 points per game and is also tied for 30th nationally in rebounding at 9.5 per contest and 24th in field goal percentage (.563). Utah Valley's statistics aren't available at the NCAA's website due the school's current provisional status but as a team the Wolverines rank among the national leaders in points per game (81.4, t-5th), assists per game (19.9, 2nd), 3-pt FG percentage (41.1%, 4th), field goal percentage (47.6%, 8th) and free-throw percentage (76.9%, t-14th). Utah Valley will play its first home game in nearly a month on Monday, January 28th when the Wolverines host Chicago State on Pack the House night. Families can get into the game for just $10 while Family Home Evening groups are just $15 for the entire group.
