Fairbanks Earns Independent Player of the Week for Fourth Time

Orem, Utah - For the fourth time this season, Utah Valley State's Robyn Fairbanks has been named the Division-I Independent Player of the Week. It's the sixth time that she has earned the award in her career.

The sophomore center from Raymond, Alberta averaged 18 points and 8 rebounds in two games last week. In the Wolverines' loss at UC Irvine, she had a "double-double" with 20 points and 10 rebounds despite playing just 21 minutes due to foul trouble.

She is currently averaging 24.8 points per game, second nationally behind Western Michigan's Carrie Moore.

Fairbanks leads the Division-I independents in scoring and field goal shooting, hitting 55.2% from the field. She is also second among independents in rebounds with a 9.1 per game average.

Earlier this season she became Utah Valley's career leader in NCAA points scored and is poised to become the first Wolverine to pass the 1,000 point plateau later this season. She currently has 921 career points in just 46 career games for a career average of 20.5 points per game.

The Wolverines are off until January 25th when they host a tought South Dakota State squad at 7:05pm in the McKay Center. North Dakota State will be in Orem on January 27th in a game that will be at 3:05pm in the Shurian Family Activity Center.
