Wrestling Holds Hall of Fame Banquet

OREM, Utah - In cooperation with the Utah Amateur Wrestling Foundation, the Utah Valley wrestling team hosted the Utah Wrestling Hallof Fame banquet on Oct. 11. The event was held in the UVU Grand Ballroom and honored some of the state's past and present wrestling greats. Over 330 people attended the banquet. Three wrestlers, three coaches and one referee were inducted into the state's wrestling Hall of Fame along with another special recognition award. Additionally, current wrestlers were honored with various annual awards. The Wolverines Jeb Clark was named the College Wrestler of the Year at the banquet. Awards for high school wrestlers, high school coaches and All-American wrestlers were also given out. The banquet also included a live and silent auction that helped raise raise funds to help pay for a coaching stipend for a new assistant coach. The Utah Wrestling Hall of Fame Banquet will be an annual event. Present, past, and future inductees will be displayed in the hallway in the Wolverine Service Center next to the UVU Wrestling room. |
