Feb. 3, 2007
Final Results
Orem, Utah - Utah Valley fought tough, but fell to Wyoming, 32-9, at the Shurian Activities Center. "The guys wrestled good today," head coach Greg Williams said. "There was progression today. We missed some opportunities but overall we feel it was a good performance." Three Wolverines got wins beginning with Justin Morrill at the 141-pound weight class. Morrill won a 3-1 decision that went down the wire. The win was Morrill's fifth consecutive victory in duals. After Wyoming got a tech. fall win to go ahead, 5-3, Justin Rawle put the Wolverines back on top, 6-5 with an 8-1 decision. Brock Jardine also picked up a decision victory in the 184 weight class in a match that went down to the final seconds. Jardine got a take down in with five seconds remaining in the third period to go 4-2. With the riding time, Jardine won the match, 5-2. "A lot of guys wrestled to their potential, which is encouraging," Williams said. "Morrill is showing good things. McAllister showed a lot of guts and hung in there against a guy that out-weighed him by over 100 pounds." UV returns to action next week when the Wolverines take on UC Davis at the Shurian Activies Center. |
