Men's Golf Competing in 2007 Ping Cougar Classic
April 19, 2007 OREM, Utah - The Utah Valley men's golf team will make its shortest road trip of the season this week when the Wolverines are part of the 16-team field competing at the Ping Cougar Classic at Riverside Country Club in Provo. This season will mark the third time that UV will compete at the Cougar Classic. Last season the team finished in 10th place after shooting 1-over par, the best team score in school history. The 54-hole tournament will begin with 36 holes on Friday before the final 18 on Saturday. Host BYU is the 2006 defending team champion while Weber State's Barry Schenk was the 2006 individual champion. The Wolverines will wrap up the 2006-07 season next weekend at the Division-I Independent Championships in Windsor, Colorado where Senior Nic van Vuuren try to defend his 2006 independent championship. |
