van Vuuren Tied for 16th After Day 1 at Bill Cullum Invitational

Simi Valley, California Utah Valley State's Nic van Vuuren shot a second round 71 (-1) and is currently tied for 16th through two rounds at the Bill Cullum Invitational. van Vuuren is +3 overall and is eight shots behind Loyola Marymount's Brian Locke at Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley, California. As a team, Utah Valley is in 12th place out of 14 teams with van Vuuren the only Wolverine golfer in the top 50. UV shot +21 (309) in the opening round before improving by seven shots in the second round to shoot +14 (302) as a team. Jordan Rogers (+11, t-53), Jeff Gibson (+12, t-55), Andrew Smith (+13, t-58) and Dustin Robinson (+13, t-58) round out the Wolverine golfers competing. In addition to having the individual leader, Loyola Marymount is also leading the team standings, at +6, one shot ahead of Cal Poly. The final round will take place Tuesday morning. This is the final tournament of the fall for the Wolverine men's team. |
