Wolverines Finish 16th at Cougar Classic

Final Results

PROVO, Utah - Utah Valley shot a final round team score of 295 and moved into 16th place after the final round of the Ping Cougar Classic at Riverside Country Club in Provo.

Andrew Smith and Dustin Robinson both shot a 1-over 73 in the third round to lead the Wolverines. Smith, Nic van Vuuren and Jeff Gibson all finished the 54-hole tournament at +7 and tied for 53rd.

Robinson (+15, t-86th) and Chris Cole (+16, t-89th) round out the UV scores.

BYU ran away with the team title after finishing at -32, 15 shots better than Nevada.

Teammates Daniel Summerhays and Jake Ellison battled for the individual title with Summerhays coming out on type by one stroke after shooting a final round 67 (-5) to finish at -11. New Mexico's Charlie Beljan finished third at -9.

The Wolverines will close out the season next weekend at the Division I Independent Championships in Colorado.
