St. George, Utah - Nic van Vuuren shot a 3-under, 69 and finished just one shot out of first place at the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational at Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George on Tuesday.

van Vuuren's overall score of 8-under was one shot shy of Colorado State's Aaron Weston and Jacksonville's Duncan Stewart, with Weston winning the individual title in a playoff.

As a team the Wolverines finished 16th, one shot behind Utah State, out of 18 teams.

The Wolverines will be off until the Cuesta Title Intercollegiate on March 29-30 at the Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande, California, hosted by Cal Poly.
