Baseball Closes Out 2007 Campaign by Hosting Independent Championship
May 22, 2007 OREM, Utah - Utah Valley baseball will wrap up its most successful season at the NCAA Division I level this week by hosting the Division I Independent Championship. Seven teams will be in Orem for the four-day event, with each team playing four games. The Wolverines open play on Wednesday at 7pm against North Dakota State (14-29). UV will take on NYIT (23-25) on Thursday at 7:30pm, NJIT (13-26)on Friday at 7:30pm and close out the season with Chicago State (4-49) on Saturday a 4pm. Northern Colorado (14-33) and South Dakota State (31-18) are the remaining schools participating. All 14 games over the four-day tournament will feature Gametracker, available at www.WolverineGreen.com. Utah Valley (22-29) is coming off its toughest stretch of the season against BYU and Arizona State. The Wolverines fell 6-2 at BYU before dropping an 11-3 contest to the #6 Sun Devils in Tempe, Arizona. |
