Five Wolverines Named to All-Academic Team

OREM, Utah - Five Utah valley baseball players were named to the Division I Independent All-Academic team on Wednesday. Seniors Turreal Moore and Eli Slesk and juniors Kyle Kasper, Marcus Moore and Adam Openshaw were honored for their performance in the classroom and on the field. Openshaw sports the highest GPA of the bunch, a 3.56 with a major in Physical Education/Teacher Education. Turreal Moore is also in the PE/Teacher Education degree and boasts a 3.49 GPA. Kasper is majoring in Business Management with a 3.37 GPA while Marcus Moore, Utah Valley's March Scholar-Athlete of the Month, has a 3.44 GPA while majoring in Exercise Science. Slesk is majoring in Business Management and sports a 3.41 GPA. North Dakota State's Kole Zimmerman was named the Independent Student-Athlete of the Year. The Wolverines, 6-4 winners over Utah on Tuesday night, will be back in action next Tuesday at BYU and next Wednesday at #8 Arizona State. |
