Wolverine Women Finish Second at SUU

Men Results : Female Results

Cedar City , Utah - - The Utah Valley State women-€™s cross country team placed second at the SUU Color Country Invitational. Freshman Kim Rowberry, last weeks Independent Female Runner of the Week, placed second in the meet by finishing the 2.66 mile course in 17 minutes and 10 seconds. Bekah Meier-Poppinga finished sixth overall with a time of 17:18. Kirsten Barney was ninth with 17:26. Her time was a minute and 20 seconds faster than last years time in the same event.

Karinne Bently finished the race in 13 th place at 17:45 and Tricia Lenneberg was 15 th 18:05. Lenneberg-€™s time was also a personal best.

On the men-€™s side, Peter Holm was the top finisher with a time of 23:22 on the 4.66 mile course. Mark Lott was the second Wolverine runner across the finish line with a time of 23:36. For Lott, his time was 20 seconds better than last years meet at SUU. Ryan Gurr, Michael Vick and Jacob Buehler were the final three runners for the Wolverine team.

-€œAlthough we weren-€™t totally healthy, we ran better today at this course than we did last year,-€ Utah Valley State coach Scott Houle said. -€œThe athletes ran well and we are excited to go to the Independent Championships.-€
