UV to Compete Locally at BYU Cougar Invitational
March 29, 2007 Orem, Utah - The Utah Valley track athletes will have an opportunity to compete against local competition as the Wolverines head to Provo for the 2007 BYU Cougar Invitational on Friday. UV will face in-state competition from BYU, Utah, Southern Utah, Weber State and Utah State. The Wolverines will also go against athletes from Boise State. After several stellar performances at the Long Beach Relays Mar. 17, Utah Valley will look to improve on its marks and provisionally qualify athletes for NCAA Regionals. At the Long Beach meet, 23 Wolverines set personal records in their respective events. Chris Fogt set the Utah Valley school record in the 100 meters. Action starts at 11 a.m. with the women's hammer throw. Track and field events are mixed throughout the day with the last events wrapping up at 5 p.m. This weekend's meet is the first of three consecutive meets to take place in Utah. Next week, the Wolverines will head to Ogden for a meet a Weber State. |
