Long Distance Runners to Compete for First Time

Wolverine men and women head to Pocatello to compete in the 5000 meter run.

Orem, Utah - Utah Valley State long distance runners will make their debut for the Wolverines on the Indoor Track season as UV heads to Pocatello, Idaho for the Mountain States Games.

"We are only sending our distance runners this week," UV head coach Scott Houle said. "This will be the only time that our longer distance runners get some work in the indoor season."

Three women and three men will compete in the 5000 meter run against some of the toughest competition.

"The competition will be great at the meet," Houle said.

Several heats of the 5000 meter run will take place on Friday evening.
