Salifu and Cook Break School records

Provo, UT- The Utah Valley State track team had a solid outing at the BYU Robison Invitational on Friday as several Wolverine athletes set school records and personal best marks. Mariama Salifu set new records in the 100 and 200 meter sprints as she ran 11.64 seconds in the 100 and a 24.04 in the 200. Salifu had the best times out of all the runners in the preliminary races for both events. Her 100m time was also an NCAA regional qualifying mark. Erin Albee qualified for Saturday's finals in the 400m while Karinne Bentley will run in the 800m finals. Zach Cook broke a school record in the long jump with jump of 24-02.25 Matt Williams set a PR and was just inches off the school record in the pole vault with a jump of 15 feet 7 inches. Danny Moody set a PR for the season in the 5,000m with a time of 15:57.09. The finals for most of the running events will take place on Saturday. |
