Ogden, Utah - Mariama Salifu was Utah Valley State's brightest spot as she broke her own school record in the 100 meter dash at the Javier's Wildcat Open. "It was a decent meet for us all around," associate head coach Kirke Adamson said. "The heat slowed us down a little bit today." Salifu's time of 11.72 was good for first place at the meet in an event that included 32 competitors. Salifu added a second-place finish in the 200 meters with a time of 24.46. Trisha Wright had the best time of eight runners in the women's 5000 meters while Ashley Timo took second in the long jump with an 18-foot jump. On the men's side, Zach Cook took second in the long jump with a leap of 22-04.50. In the hammer throw, Gavin Shaw had a throw of 185-08.00. The Wolverines will compete at both Utah State and Mt SAC next weekend. |
