Sprinters Lead Pack at BYU Invite

Provo, Utah - Chris Fogt, Mariama Salifu, Zach Cook and Chase Englestead all registered first-place finishes in their respective events as Utah Valley State faired well at the BYU Cougar Invitational.

Cook, a freshman from South Jordan, Utah, posted the best long jump of the day. His mark of 7.04 meters was the best jump of the meet.

Englestead, running unattached, ran a 4:00.09 in the 1500 meter run while Mary Nothum and Kirsten Barney finished second and third, respectively in the women's 1500.

Salifu ran an 11.95 in the 100 meter dash. Tawny Judkins-Gause and Kari Snow-Tupou finished third and fourth, respectively in the women's 100. Fogt was the only Wolverine to finish in the top-10 in the men's 100. He finished first with a time of 10.80.

UV will return to the track next weekend when it heads to Ogden for a meet hosted by Weber State on April 7.
