Wolverines Finish Indoor Season Strong

Ogden, Utah - Utah Valley State finished its Indoor Track Season strong as the Wolverines saw two more school records fall. "We finished the season strong," associate head coach Kirke Adamson said. "We had a lot of high points in the final meet." Chris Fogt, who already owns two other school records, broke the Utah Valley State school record in the 400 meter race. Fogt ran the 400 in 48.76 seconds. The 400 is Fogt's third different distance in which he has recorded a school record in the 2007 Indoor season. Zach Cook also broke his own school record in the long jump. Cook broke the record three separate times at the meet with his best jump covering 23 feet and 1 inch. The Wolverines dominated the short sprints, with UV runners scoring seven of the top 10 times in the men's 55 meter trial. Fogt finished second in both the 55 meter trial and 55 meter final. Hudu Al-Hassan, Marshall Milligan and Brent Fogt also placed in the top six in the men's 55 meter final. Mariama Salifu won both the 55 meter trial and 55 meter final races, posting a time of 7.05 in the final. Kari Snow-Tupou, Tawny Judkins-Gause and Tiera Zaugg also placed in the top six of the women's 55 meter final. Cook also placed in the 55 meter hurdles for UV on the men's side while Snow-Tupou placed in the same event on the women's side. Salifu also won the 200 meters for the Wolverines. "It was an outstanding season for us this year," Adamson said. "Our athletes finished strong and are ready for the Outdoor season." |
