Boise, Idaho - Both the men and women track teams fared well for Utah Valley State at the Bronco Invitational in Boise. The Wolverines were especially strong in the running events.

"There was some good competition and the track is one of the best in the country," UV head coach Scott Houle said. "Overall, I think we fared very well. Several people set personal records and we had some school records as well."

Chris Fogt set a school record in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.76. Mariama Salifu set school records in the 60 meter (6.95) and 200 meter runs (24.79). Zach Cook set the school record in the long jump with a jump of 6.98 meters.

Mike Heninger (8.75) and Cook (8.82) took first and second place, respectively in the 60-meter hurdles for the men. Kari Snow-Tupou took first in the women's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.05.

In the 60-meter dash, Fogt took second overall, running a 6.95 while Salifu led the Wolverines with a time of 7.56. Tawny Judkins-Gause also registered a 7.94 in the 60 meters.

UV had several top-five finishers in both the mens and womens one mile run. Mark Lott posted the best time on the mens side with a time of 4:26.46 and Mary Nothum had the best women's time at 5:09.54.

Fogt took second overall in the 200 meters with his school-record time of 21.76. Salifu took first with her time in the 200.

The Wolverines dominated the long distance runs. Chase Englestead and Trevor Baker took first and second place in the 3000 meters with times of 8:55.61 and 9:17.72, respectively. On the women's side, Karinne Bentley (10:30.75) and Bekah Poppinga (10:35.90) took first and second.

Gavin Shaw represented well in the field events. Shaw placed third in the weight throw with a heave of 17.58 meters.

UV returns to action next week when it returns to Idaho for the Mountain States Games in Pocatello.
