Day One Results

PROVO, Utah - Sophomore Ashley Timo headlined Utah Valley's performance at the Wolverines first track meet of the year as UV finished strong on day two at the BYU Cougar Indoor Invitational.

"Ashley Timo had an overall great meet for us," Utah Valley associate head coach Kirke Adamson said. "Overall, it was a good opening meet for us. It was a good opportunity for our young athletes to acclimate themselves with college competition."

Timo set the school record in the long jump with a leap of 5'6.25". The jump gave Timo a first place finish at the meet.

Chelsea Baker broke a freshman record in the 300 meter dash with a time of 42:09, good for fifth place in her first collegiate 300-meter race.

On the men's side, Danny Moody set a personal record in the 3000 meters with a sixth-place finishing time of 8:53.54.

Several unattached athletes that figure to be key contributors for the Wolverines finished among the top in their respective events.

The Wolverines will be back in action when they compete at Utah State and Idaho State next weekend.
