UTEP senior defenders Heather Clark and Katie Rewalt were named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District VI University Division Women’s Soccer Team on Thursday.

Clark was named to the first team while Rewalt earned second-team honors.

Clark carries a 4.00 grade point average in education and was named to the first-team in 2003 as well. The Alamogordo, N.M., native has played in 68 career games and ranks 11th on the UTEP career list.

Rewalt is a speech pathology major and has a 3.80 GPA. A native of Albuquerque, N.M., she has played in 59 career games and scored one career goal.

Both players have been named Academic All-WAC each of the last two seasons.

The University Division of District VI is comprised of schools in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

As a result of her first-team selection, Clark is now eligible for the All-America team. CoSIDA members will vote on the team based on a list of first-team honorees from each of the eight districts.
