Journal No. 2 - July 29, 2005

Well today I just got home from running four 400-yard shuttle sprints and my body is aching. On Wednesday I wanted to get some extra fitness in because I missed some days last week from being sick, so I decided to run high sides in the Sun Bowl. The following day we ran the cooper test and I rushed off after that to help a friend move out of her house. So I'm kinda regretting the high sides at this point.

Ceramics is officially over and now I'm just waiting for the rest of my pieces to be fired. In reference to the ceramic soccer ball, no I have not thought about making that, but I like to separate soccer and art. For me they are two things I strive to be better at but each in their own way. They feel like two different lives to me. But if you want to see some of the art I have done I have a 12 ft. functional steel marionette on display. It's outside on Remcon Circle down from the post office over there.

As far as soccer goes, today we also finished our last week of soccer camp. This week we had a combination of soccer and swimming and it was a blast. Soccer season is creep'n closer and closer we have our first meeting coming up on the 10th of August. I'm getting the soccer hype more and more every day.

On an individual level for me my favorite thing about soccer is watching my improvement from season to season and even sometimes game to game. Every team I have been on has contributed to my soccer ability now. Even playing on a boys team allowed me to play in a completely different style. They are much faster and more individual when they play. I had a blast and learned a lot. The only time I had ever seen a group of guys cry was winning second place in our TAPPS state competition to a team of almost all seniors. It was intense.

Right now I'm about to finish packing, and a friend and I are going to drive down to Dallas, eh. It should be a nice trip with the weather we have been having.

Bye-cycle
