UTEP women's soccer coach Kevin Cross announced the signing of four student-athletes to National Letters of Intent on Friday.
Brandi Aston of Deer Park, Texas, Lauren Pierce of Grand Prairie, Texas, Amanda Urwin of Spring, Texas and Danielle Zarret of Las Cruces, N.M. will attend UTEP in the fall and play soccer.
"I am very excited about the addition of these four players to the UTEP Soccer family," Cross said. "I feel that this is a very impressive recruiting class and that the players can make an immediate impact on the program."

Brandi Aston
5-4, Forward, Deer Park, Texas (La Porte HS/Cisco JC)
Second-team All-America selection at Cisco Junior College under Coach Scott Toups after the Wranglers went 15-2 ... scored 72 points on 32 goals and eight assists in 14 games ... first-team All-Region 5 in 2004 ... member of the ODP State Team in 1998 and 2001 ... member of the ODP Regional Camp Team in 1998 ... First-team All-State as a freshman ... named to the All-Greater Houston Area team as a sophomore ... Played club ball for the Texas Wave 84-85 ... led the Wave to six state championships ... they also won 10 other tournaments in three years ... the Wave was coached by Mike Costello and James Lawrence.
Lauren Pierce
5-3, Forward, Grand Prairie, Texas (South Grand Prairie HS)
Four-year letter winner at South Grand Prairie for coach Kirby Davis ... listed as one of the 2005 "Players to Watch" by the Dallas Morning News ... team captain her final three seasons ... two-time South Grand Prairie Offensive Player of the Year ... led South Grand Prairie to the Lewisville Cup and Arrowhead Shootout titles in 2005 ... as a junior, she was named the District 8-5A "Most Valuable Forward", All-Arlington Area and second-team All-Dallas ... as a sophomore she earned All-Arlington area honors and District 8-5A second-team accolades ... played club soccer for the Dallas Texans 87 Red South squad that was coached by Misty Jones ... the Texans were ranked seventh in North Texas and 23rd in Region III ... helped the Texans to numerous titles in 2004 including the Director’s Cup National Championship, the North American Memorial Day Cup and the Premier League Championship in both 2003 and 2004 ... also appeared in the semifinals of the 2004 Texas Cup and the Labor Day Cup Gold Bracket ... was also a four-year letter winner in volleyball and captain her senior season ... second-team All-District 8-5A as a senior ... named "Most Athletic" as a senior, senior class favorite ... member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (for math honors), Student Council, Student Empowerment Team and Great Texas Scholars.
Amanda Urwin
5-3, Defender, Spring, Texas (Klein HS)
Has played eight years of club soccer for the Challenge Soccer Club, coached by Dan O’Toole ... team captain for the last five ... member of the ODP State Team from 1999-2003 while captaining the team in 2001 ... National Camp player in 2001 and Regional Pool player from 2001-03 ... played for the Challenge travel team her sophomore through senior seasons, playing against NCAA teams in exhibition matches ... member of the Earth Club, Latin Club, Future Teachers of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Latin Honors Society and Kats for Christ (a Bible study group) ... also taught a first grade class for a year as a part of the Peer Assistance in Leadership Skills program where teachers selected the high school students to student teach at a local elementary school ... voted Best Personality as a senior ... chose UTEP over future Conference USA divisional rival Houston, and TCU, Iowa, Ole Miss, Charlotte and UNC-Greensboro.
Danielle Zarret
5-7, Midfielder, Las Cruces, N.M. (Las Cruces HS)
Three-year starter at Las Cruces HS for coaches Alex Reyes and Gary Bruner ... captained the Bulldogs her senior year ... led LCHS to three district titles and a state championship ... named First-Team All-State and District Player of the Year as a senior ... also earned First-Team All-District honors as a sophomore, junior and senior ... played club soccer for the nationally-ranked Rio Vista Elite ... led the Elite to three state championships and the 2002 Region VI championship ... four year starter for the 87 New Mexico ODP team ... helped the team to the Region IV ODP championship in 2004 ... also recruited by Gonzaga, Denver, Louisiana Tech and Mercer ... just the second player from Las Cruces to play at UTEP, joining walk-on Valerie Argueta (1999).
