Miner Shooters Fall To Reno



Crabtree was the Miners' top shooter in the two-day contests, firing a personal best 587 in air rifle on Saturday and a team-high 572 in smallbore.

EL PASO, Texas - The UTEP rifle team dropped back-to-back duals against Nevada over the weekend, falling 4629-4559 on Saturday and followed with a 4599-4537 narrow loss on Sunday.

Crabtree was the Miners' top shooter in the two-day contests. She fired a personal best 587 in air rifle on Saturday and a team-high 572 in smallbore. She continued with a team-best performance on Sunday, as she posted a 580 in air gun and 572 in smallbore.

Josie Burzynski also notched 572 in smallbore on Sunday. She closed with 571 in air gun. Burzynski fired 565 and 575 in smallbore and air gun, respectively on Saturday.

Elizabeth Waldrip and Jessie Garay notched personal records on Saturday, with scores of 536 and 572, respectively.

The Miners head to Colorado Springs, Colo. this weekend to face Air Force and Nevada.
