FORT WORTH, Texas - Anna Crabtree finished seventh at the TCU Horned Frog Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas over the weekend, firing her way to an aggregate score of 1151. The Miners fell to Nevada-Reno on Sunday, 4608-4558. Crabtree was the top finisher for UTEP in the smallbore portion of the event, shooting her way to a 572 finish. She was followed by Kayra Davila with 566, who capped off the top 10. Freshman Amber Criss led the Miners in air rifle with a score of 583 to rank third in the event. She was followed by Crabtree (579) who finished eighth and Josie Burzynski (578). TCU's Simone Riford was the overall winner of the event, gunning and aggregate of 1162. TCU, Reno, Air Force and UTEP all participated. The Miners went face-to-face with Reno on Sunday in Dallas, with UTEP falling to the Wolfpack. Davila posted the top aggregate score on the team, finishing with scores of 575 and 564 in air rifle and smallbore, respectively, to total 1143 for the Miners. She was followed by Crabtree and Criss who each shot 1142 and was trailed by Burzynski with a total of 1135. The Miners return to action on Saturday in a rematch with Reno.
