UTEP Shooter Earns Third All-American Honor
EL PASO, Texas – UTEP shooter Leah Wilcox posted a score of 586 to rank 12th nationally in air rifle at the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Rifle Championships in Fairbanks, Alaska over the weekend. The Kentucky native was named second team All-American for her efforts. It marks the third consecutive season the senior received the honor. Wilcox averaged a team-high 586 in air rifle over the 2006-07 campaign and gunned a team-high 584 at the NCAA Qualifiers on Feb. 9. She posted three scores over the 590 mark including a school record 592 against Alaska-Fairbanks on Nov. 18, 2006. She shot 591 in a triangular against Texas Christian and Missouri-Kansas City on Feb. 3 and 590 against Ole Miss (Nov. 4, 2006). |
