UTEP's Felix Returns to Watch List For Rimington Trophy

For the second consecutive year, UTEP's Robby Felix is on the watch list for the Rimington Trophy, presented to the most outstanding center in college football.

Felix is one of 46 players on the list, which was announced on Tuesday. Last year's receipient of the award was West Virginia's Dan Mozes, who recently signed a contract with the Minnesota Vikings.

The 6-3, 295 pound Felix has started all 24 games for the Miners over the last two seasons. He earned third team All-Conference USA honors in 2006 by league media, and was an honorable mention All-Conference selection by the coaches. Felix helped the Miners rank fifth in the country in passing offense (312.8 ypg), 18th in passing efficiency (149.25), 38th in scoring offense (27.3 ppg) and 39th in total offense (370.4 ypg) last season. UTEP led Conference USA in passing offense.

A native of Corona, Calif., Felix was an honorable mention Freshman All-America by The Sporting News in 2005.

The winner of the trophy will be honored at an awards banquet at the Rococo Theater in Lincoln, Neb. in January, 2008.
