UTEP's offense produced five touchdowns in the Miners' third scrimmage of the spring on Saturday morning in the Sun Bowl.

Tight ends Jonny Moore and Jake Sears led the way, combining to make nine catches for 101 yards while scoring a touchdown apiece. Moore finished with a team-high six catches for 71 yards, reaching the end zone on a 20-yard pass from quarterback James Thomas. Sears, who reeled in three balls for 30 yards, had a 17-yard scoring grab courtesy of Trevor Vittatoe.

Vittatoe completed 11 of 14 passes for 92 yards. Thomas was also sharp, hitting on 7 of 8 attempts for 75 yards with a pair of TDs. He also connected with El Paso native Brian Diaz for a 24-yard score.

Tailbacks Terrell Jackson and Marcus Thomas continued to run hard, teaming for 119 yards on 27 carries.

Linebacker Aaron Sims was the leading tackler with seven stops. Lineman JaBoy Leomiti, a junior college transfer, also had a big day with five tackles, a forced fumble and fumble recovery.

The Miners will wrap up spring drills next week with practices on Tuesday and Thursday -- both at 3:30 p.m. -- prior to Friday's spring game in the Sun Bowl at 7 p.m.
