UTEP head coach Doc Sadler announced Wednesday that he has released Ivan Almonte of his national letter of intent he signed with the Miners in November.

"This program deserves 100 percent commitment because of the past and present players, the coaches and the fans. This is something as head coach I am not willing to compromise," said Sadler. "I did not get the feeling we could get this guarantee from Alex (Galindo) or Ivan, so I made a decision today to release them from their early commitments."
