Women's Track & Field Sees 19 Honored as Academic All-MWC

SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah women's track and field team had 19 student-athletes on the Mountain West Conference Spring Academic All-Conference Team.

Alyssa Abbott (Freshman, Undeclared), Kellie Anderson (Junior, Exercise and Sport Science), Susan Atwater (Senior, Exercise and Sport Science), Jen Cutrer (Senior, Health Education), Jazmin Dickey (Freshman, Communication), Chelsea DiGrazia (Junior, Exercise and Sport Science), Lauren Enderson (Sophomore, Biology), Janett Ern (Sophomore, Parks, Recreation & Tourism), Rebecca Mackelprang (Freshman, Biology), Kelsi Maires (Freshman, Exercise and Sport Science), Candice Mannion (Senior, Speech and Hearing Science), Haley McAllister (Sophomore, English Teaching), Sarah McFee (Junior, Meteorology), Jennifer Neddo (Freshman, Exercise and Sport Science), Chelsea Shapard (Sophomore, Communication), Laryssa Simpson (Freshman, Business), Stephanie Storeyko (Freshman, Undeclared), Jessica Suddaby (Freshman, Exercise and Sport Science) and Liza Whitehead (Freshman, Exercise and Sport Scienc) were all recognized by the conference.
 

 

To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-Mountain West Conference team, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.

In all, Utah had 83 student-athletes recognized on the Spring Academic All-Mountain West Conference team. The spring team included baseball, softball, men's basketball, women's basketball, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's golf, men's swimming and diving, women's swimming and diving and women's track and field.

In addition, Alyssa Abbott, Chelsea DiGrazia, Lauren Endersen, Rebecca Mackelprang, Kelsey Maires, Sarah McFee, Jennifer Neddo, Stephanie Skoreyko and Liza Whitehead were named MWC Scholar Athletes. To be eligible for selection student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition for their athletic team.
