Utah State Women's Tennis Competes At BYU Invitational This Weekend

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's tennis team opens its fall season this Thursday, Sept. 20 as they head to Provo, Utah to compete in the three-day Brigham Young Invitational. The three-day tournament will feature singles and doubles action starting on Thursday morning and going through Saturday afternoon.

The Aggies have three returning players this year in junior Bridgette Strickland and sophomores Brianna Harris and Britney Watts. The new Aggies are Lisa Brown, Hailey Swenson and Kourtney Young.

Strickland had a 6-17 record last year, seeing action at No.4, 5 and 6. Harris saw action in the No. 2, 3 and 4 singles spots going 9-14 overall and 4-1 at No. 4. Harris recorded a 10-11 doubles mark with former Aggie Courtney Anderson where they went 8-6 at No. 2. Watts ended last season with a 5-6 singles record, going 1-1 at No. 6. Strickland and Watts teamed up at No. 3 doubles to going 3-2.

The BYU Invitational is expected to host teams from BYU, Boise State, Montana State, Utah State and Weber State.
