Courtney Anderson Named Second Team All-WAC

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's tennis player Courtney Anderson was named second-team all-Western Athletic Conference it was announced by the league office on Saturday.

Anderson, a senior from Salt Lake City, Utah (Brighton HS), played number one singles for Utah State and ended her season with a 13-3 record, including seven straight wins heading into the WAC Championships.

"Courtney is one of the most talented athletes I have seen in my 15 years at Utah State and she is definitely an all-WAC performer," said USU head coach Christian Wright.

Anderson is the first Utah State woman to evert earn all-WAC honors and the first to earn all-conference honors since Lindsey Bennion was named honorable mention all-Big West Conference following the 2005 season.

Utah State finished the 2007 campaign with a 4-0 loss to Nevada in the first round of the 2007 WAC Championships this past week after entering the tournament as the number six seed. USU ends its season with an overall record of 9-10.
