USU Women's Tennis Play Home Matches Friday and Saturday

Jan. 24, 2007

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's women's tennis team is scheduled to open up dual match play with two home matches this weekend. The Aggies will play Montana on Friday at 10 a.m. and Montana State Saturday at 1 p.m. The match times have been changed from the original schedule. Both matches will be held at the Sports Academy & Racquet Club and are free to the public.

The Aggies opened up the season at the Utah Invitational where Lauren Monson won the consolation bracket of Flight B, defeating teammate Erin Manning by a score of 6-1, 6-2. Monson and sister, Erin, were defeated in the doubles championship by Utah.

Last year the Aggies fell to Montana State, 5-2, and took the number three and four spots after winning two of six matches. Current Aggies, Courtney Anderson and Dee-Dee Nelson, were the only Aggies to win in the doubles action.
