LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's men's and women's tennis teams swept Eastern Washington here on Sunday, 7-0. The women improved to 10-10, while the men improved to 7-11.

The men took the court first, starting at 9 a.m. Playing its first match since March 17 Utah State started off strong, winning all three doubles matches to take the doubles point. The men won all but one of the singles matches in two sets. Joao Pinho led the Aggies at the No. 1 spot, beating Brian Garfield 6-0, 6-3. He was followed by Hannes Schenk and Roshan Rasekhi at No. 2 and 3. Brad Ferguson won at the No. 4 spot, and is currently leading the team with a 12-5 record this spring.

The women followed at noon, starting off 1-0 after winning all three doubles matches. The women were able to take all six singles matches in just two sets. Lindsey Bennion downed Sayaka Yoshimoto 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 1 spot and was followed in victory by teammates Jill Smith at No. 2 and Carolyn Stephens at No. 3.

Utah State will be in action again on April 12 when the men will take on Idaho State in Logan at 1:30 p.m. The women play again on April 14 at 2:00 p.m. in Logan when they will take on Weber State.
