Aggie Women's Tennis Defeats San Jose State, 4-3, Friday At Reno

RENO, Nev.- Utah State women's tennis defeated San Jose State Friday, 4-3, at the Wilbur D. May Tennis Complex at Reno High School. With the win, the Aggies improve their season record to 5-7. USU started off on the right foot when they captured the doubles point. Aggies Lauren and Erin Monson defeated Spartans Ashley Tavita and Amber Silverstone at number one doubles, 8-6. Bridgette Strickland and Dee-Dee Nelson helped secure the doubles point, playing at number three, when they defeated Silvana Dukic and Dana Popescu. Senior Courtney Anderson pushed her way to three sets in singles action at number one, defeating Tavita. Also scoring points for the Aggies in singles action were Erin Monson at number two and Dee-Dee Nelson at number four. The Aggies finish the last of their three matches in Reno Saturday at 9 a.m. against Idaho.
