USU Women's Tennis Falls To Portland

Feb. 26, 2005

PORTLAND, Ore. - Courtney Anderson won the only match on Friday night for the Utah State Aggies as they fell 6-1 to Portland. Anderson beat Alyson Tyson 6-7, 1-6, 6-4 for the No. 4 spot. The Pilots improved to 2-4, while the Aggies evened out to 3-3.

Before losing the doubles point Aggies Lindsey Bennion and Carolyn Stephens teamed up to beat the tandem of Cristin Sammis and Tyson 8-4 at No. 1 position.

Stephens also had a close match and fought hard at the No. 3 singles spot before falling 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 to Jackie Soltysik.

The Aggies play again Saturday evening at 6:00 p.m. in Portland where they will take on Eastern Washington.
