USU Women's Tennis Team Beats Mesa State

LOGAN, Utah--Lindsey Bennion led Utah State's women's tennis team to 7-0 victory over the Mesa State Mavericks Friday afternoon. Bennion defeated Emily Hydrick 6-2, 6-3 to win the No.1 singles match. Bennion was also part of the No. 1 doubles team with Carolyn Stephens that won 8-0 against Mesa State's Hydrick and Morgan Sawyer. Utah State went on to win the other five singles matches in two sets. Stephens played the No. 2 spot not allowing her opponent Teri Mayeda a single point winning both sets 6-0. Aggie Courtney Anderson beat Morgan Sawyer 6-1, 6-0 to win the No. 3 match. In doubles action the Aggies won the No. 2 and 3 mathces as well as the No. 1 spot. No. 2 Anderson and Barker teamed up to beat Teri Mayeda and Drisa Carrizo 8-4. Aggies Erin Manning and Lauren Monson did well in the No. 3 spot winning the match against miranda Kettle and Elizabeth Dennison easily with a score of 8-2.
