USU Women's Tennis Suffers Loss in Las Vegas Against UC Riverside Saturday

Las Vegas, Nevada - Utah State women's tennis suffered a 5-2 loss Saturday in Las Vegas against UC Riverside at the Fertitta Tennis Complex. The Aggies are now at 2-3 for the spring season. USU's Brianna Harris and Courtney Anderson defeated UCR's H.R. Espiritu and Roxanne Plata , 8-5, in doubles action at number two. The Aggies struggled with the other doubles matches and UCR captured the doubles point. Anderson started the team out right with a win in the singles action, defeating Erynne Oki, 6-4, 6-4, at number one. Anderson now holds a 5-0 record for singles this season. Harris played at number four and earned the Aggies a second point defeating opponent Yasaman Sakhakorn in two sets. Erin Monson fought hard at number two and pushed UC Riverside's H.R. Espiritu into a tiebreaker and lost 10-5. The Aggies are scheduled to play University of Nevada, Las Vegas Sun., Feb. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
