USU Softball Will Face UVSC At Home Saturday
April 29, 2005 LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's softball team (18-27, 6-12) looks to extend its resurgent season as the Utah Valley State Wolverines (13-32-1) visit Logan Saturday for a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. This will be the Wolverines' first visit to Logan. In the teams' last match up in Orem earlier this year, the Aggies split the series 1-1. USU lost the first game 4-2 but rallied back and defeated UVSC 8-6 the next game. The Aggies have stepped up their play since last meeting the Wolverines, winning eight of their last eleven games. UVSC travels to Logan with a two-game winning streak in tact, sweeping a doubleheader against Northern Colorado last weekend as they took three-of-four from the Bears. During the four games six players hit .300 or better. Chris Jimenez led the way with a .692 average while Kelli Wilkins hit .647 and Jackie Roberts .636. Emily Cardenas, Shyanne Cooper and Shea Seever also hit over .300. The Aggies stay in Logan next week as they face UC Davis in a three-game series. They will play a single game on Saturday May 7 and follow with a doubleheader the following day. First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 2 p.m.
