USU Softball Faces In-State Rivals BYU And UVSC At Home
April 25, 2005 LOGAN, Utah -Utah State's softball team will host a doubleheader against in-state rival BYU on Tuesday at 2 p.m and a doubleheader against Utah Valley State on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. The Aggies already met both teams earlier this season, posting road losses of 9-1 and 11-2 at BYU and splitting a doubleheader with UVSC, losing the first game 3-1 and winning the next 8-6. USU is 17-26 on the season and has won seven of its last 10 games, including four Big West Conference wins. Utah State is currently ranked sixth in the Big West with a 6-12 mark. USU is 7-7 at home, most recently spliting a doubleheader with Southern Utah on April 21. Utah State third baseman Sara Fleming leads the Aggies with a .312 batting average and 24 RBIs this season. Fleming leads the Big West with 15 doubles and is tied for second in slugging percentage and total bases. Utah State trails the all-time series against the Cougars 22-24 and is tied with UVSC at 1-1. The Aggies will next play Saturday May 7-8 at home when they face UC Davis in a three-game series. The two teams begin the series with a single game at 2:00 p.m.
