Softball To Open Home Schedule With Fan Rally Friday

March 29, 2005

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's softball team will hold its first annual Softball Rally on Friday, April 1 at 4 p.m. at the LaRee & LeGrand Johnson Field. The rally will help kick-off USU's home schedule as it plays Long Beach State in a doubleheader the next day starting at 1 p.m.

This season is the 25th anniversary of Utah State's first AIWA World Series championship and the team's motto, "New Team, Same Dream" continually keeps this in mind. Under first year head coach Lonny Sargent, the team is only three games from surpassing last year's win total of 10.

During the rally USU's players will put their batting skills on display with a home run derby and fans will be able to participate in shout practice. Fans in attendance also have a chance to meet their favorite players and the first 150 have the opportunity to take advantage of a free hot dog and ballpark snack. Admission to the rally is free.
