USU Gymnastics Is 16th In The Nation For The Third Straight Week
March 28, 2005 LOGAN, Utah - Utah State gymnastics retained its ranking of 16th in the nation this week thanks to a Western Gymnastics Conference Championships winning score of 195.150 last week. It is the highest regular season ending ranking for the Aggies since 1997 when they were ranked 11th. Utah State finished the regular season with a Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) of 195.370. The Aggies also finished 17th on beam (48.915), 19th on floor (49.045) and 24th on vault (48.860) and bars (48.715). By finishing in the top-18, the Aggies guaranteed themselves a trip to any one of six locations for their regional competition. The seeding assignments will be announced Tuesday, March 29. The North Central Region, of which the Aggies are members, has five members in the top-18 while the South Central Region has four.
