March 17, 2006

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's gymnastics team (5-13, 0-8) will travel to 21st-ranked Minnesota where it will compete in its last meet of the regular season at 5 p.m. MST Saturday.

In the Aggies last outing against Southern Utah, they scored their highest score of the season, but it wasn't enough to overcome Southern Utah as they finished second, 195.125-193.775.

In the Golden Gophers last outing, they beat Ohio State by a 194.425-193.900 margin. The Gophers' score was their second-best this season and their best home score of the year.

The trip this weekend will be a trip home for three members of the Utah State team, as Jaymie Goodsell, Katie Omann and Megan Tschida are all from Minnesota. Goodsell is from Blaine, Minn., Omann is from Sartell, Minn., and Tschida is from St. Paul, Minn.

The Aggies will compete again on March 25 as they host the inaugural Western Athletic Conference Gymnastics Championship in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. The event is set to begin at 2 p.m.
