Lewis and Parenti Tie First On Floor, USU Finishes Second Overall

BOISE, Idaho - Meagan Lewis and Jessica Parenti finished in a four-way tie for first on the floor with a 9.750 as the only Aggies to claim first place finishes as Utah State finished second to host Boise State here tonight. Boise State won with a score of 193.525 while the Aggies finished second with a score of 192.225 and Seattle Pacific rounded out the group with a 188.375.

The 192.225 was the Aggies second-lowest team score this year, and brings them to 5-9 overall, and 0-4 in the WAC.

Parenti led the Aggies tonight finishing tied for first on floor (9.750) and tied for second on both the beam (9.725) and bars (9.775). She finished second in the all-around with a 38.900 after finishing tied for eighth on the vault (9.650).

Lewis had the strongest showing for the Aggies on vault tonight, scoring a 9.675 to finish seventh. As a team the Aggies recorded their second-lowest score of the season on vault, finishing with a 47.900. Freshman Nicki Felley did join the lineup for the first time in her collegiate career, scoring a 9.575 on vault.

On bars, Megan Tschida competed for the second week in a row after missing five weeks due to an injury, and was the second-highest scoring Aggie, tying Meagan Lewis for fifth with a 9.650.

Alex Martin recorded her second-highest score of the season on floor with a 9.650 which gave her an eighth place finish.

The Aggies will be in action again on Friday, Feb. 24 as they take on WAC opponent Sacramento State at home in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. The meet will begin at 6:35 p.m.
