Seth Wold Named WAC Male Cross Country Athlete of the Week

Sept. 4, 2007

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State runner Seth Wold was named the WAC Male Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sept. 2, announced by the conference Monday.

Wold, a junior from Highland, Utah, took first-place to lead the Aggie Men to a second place finish at the Utah State Open on Friday, Aug. 31 at the American West Heritage Center. Wold finished the eight kilometer race with a time of 26:10.2 in USU's first meet of the season.

Last year at the Utah State Open Wold finished seventh in the 3.75 mile race with a time of 18:22.47.

Wold is the top returner for Utah State as he earned first-team all-WAC honors last season and finished fifth at the WAC championships, helping the Aggies win their second straight WAC Championship.

The cross country team will continue action on Saturday, Sept. 15 at Bozeman, Mont. in the Montana State Invitational.
