Box Score

POCATELLO, Idaho - Utah State's women's volleyball team, ranked 18th in the country, recorded its 20th win of the season with a 15-9, 15-3, 15-13 win over Idaho State at Reed Gym on Thursday Night as four Aggies had 10 or more kills in the match. With the win, USU improves to 20-8 on the year, while Idaho State drops to 8-21 overall. It is the first time a Utah State volleyball team has gotten 20 or more wins in a single-season since 1982.

"We were up and down throughout the match," commented USU head coach Tom Peterson. "I was shiffting lineups around quite a bit, and we need to get to the point where no matter who is in we are a better team. We just weren't very consistent, but it was a win."

Individually for Utah State, seniors Amy Crosbie (Visalia, Calif.) and Denae Mohlman (Shoreline, Wash.) each had 12 kills apiece for USU, while junior setter Chelsi Neves (Otto, Wyo.) had 11 kills with a team-high .643 hitting percentage and nine digs. Sophomore Hailey MacKay (Bountiful, Utah) added 10 kills and eight digs, while junior Heather Olmstead (Carpinteria, Calif.) had a team-high 10 digs.

As a team, USU hit .271 in the match on 65 kills, while Idaho State hit .145 on 44 kills. The Aggies had 15 more digs than did the Bengals, but ISU notched one more team block than did the Aggies. Both teams recorded 23 errors in the match.

Utah State returns to Big West Conference action this Saturday, Nov. 10 when the Aggies travel to Boise State to take on the Broncos at 7 p.m. in the BSU Pavillion.
