Honored as the 2002 Mission League MVP, Los Angeles Daily News Player of the Year and Division III All-CIF Southern Section first team... As a junior, she was named to the All-Mission League first team and Division III All-CIF Southern Section second team...     Alexandra Mara Dunphy was born on Dec. 12, 1985, in San Diego, Calif. ... The daughter of Marv and Su Dunphy, she has one brother, Dijon (34), and one sister (35)... Her father, the current men's volleyball head coach at Pepperdine, is a Volleyball Hall of Fame inductee who has guided the Waves to three national titles in 20 seasons and was the former head coach of the U.S. Men's Volleyball National Team (1985-88)... His U.S. team captured the gold medal at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, Korea... Her father also earned a graduate degree from USC (`78 Physical Education)... Her brother, Dijon Douphner, played collegiate volleyball at Pepperdine for her father (1990-93)... She chose USC because of the great mix of athletics and academics, the university tradition and her respect for the coaching staff... A kinesiology major who would like to pursue a career as an athletic trainer.
