    Dunphy is a 2003 graduate of Harvard-Westlake High in North Hollywood, Calif. ... A four-year volleyball and diving (1m/3m springboard) letterwinner... Led her volleyball team to the 2002 Mission League Championship and a 29-5 overall record... Recorded 2,312 career assists... Honored as the 2002 Mission League MVP, Los Angeles Daily News Player of the Year and Division III All-CIF Southern Section first team... As a junior, she was named to the All-Mission League first team and Division III All-CIF Southern Section second team... She led Harvard-Westlake to the state and CIF Division III Championships as a sophomore and junior (2000, 2001), and was awarded with the 2001 Southern California State Championship Sportsmanship Award... Was named to Who's Who In High School Sports as a freshman... Her 1999 freshman squad captured the regional championship... Played club volleyball for seven years with Hot Shots, ABVC, SCVC and Pikes Peak VBC... During this time she was named to the Junior Olympic All-Tournament team in 2000 and 2001... A four-year honor roll student, selected to Who's Who Among American High School Students as a junior.

    Alexandra Mara Dunphy was born on Dec. 12, 1985, in San Diego, Calif. ... The daughter of Marv and Su Dunphy, she has one brother, Dijon (34), and one sister (35)... Her father, the current men's volleyball head coach at Pepperdine, is a Volleyball Hall of Fame inductee who has guided the Waves to three national titles in 20 seasons and was the former head coach of the U.S. Men's Volleyball National Team (1985-88)... His U.S. team captured the gold medal at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, Korea... Her father also earned a graduate degree from USC (`78 Physical Education)... Her brother, Dijon Douphner, played collegiate volleyball at Pepperdine for her father (1990-93)... She chose USC because of the great mix of athletics and academics, the university tradition and her respect for the coaching staff... A kinesiology major who would like to pursue a career as an athletic trainer.
