    Diaz finished the 2002 season ranked No. 90 in the final ITA singles poll ... Compiled a 26-11 overall singles record and 11-10 overall doubles mark ... Ranked 46th in the preseason, she advanced to the semifinals of the ITA Regional Championships ... Split her time during the dual match season at the No. 3 and 4 positions, posting an 11-5 and 8-1 record, respectively ... Also played one match at No. 2 (1-0) ... Won as many as seven consecutive matches during the year and upset various opponents including UCLA's Petya Marinova, Arizona's Dianne Hollands and Cal's Jieun Jacobs ...     In her first season at USC as a sophomore, Diaz posted a 33-10 overall singles record, a 20-6 mark in dual matches and 16-6 against Pac-10 opponents... She finished with the team's best record overall in duals and Pac-10 ... She completed the season ranked No. 72 by the ITA... In her first fall tournament, she captured the ASU Invitational Main Draw Consolation Championship by defeating Celena McCoury of Arizona State 6-2, 6-4... She also advanced to the third round of the Rolex Regional and the semifinals of the Pac-10 Indoor Championships... Playing all but one dual match at No. 3, she was a consistent point for the team... Between Feb. 17 and March 17 she won eight consecutive matches - her longest win streak of the season... She advanced to the semifinals of the Pac-10 Singles Tournament before falling to Raquel Kops-Jones of Cal... In doubles, Diaz began the season with partner Melissa Esmero and the pair posted a 6-3 record... In February, Diaz teamed with Bernadette Bayani for a 12-14 final mark... She also played doubles matches with Krissy Hamilton-Heinberg (1-0) and Anita Loyola (1-1)... Diaz and Bayani dropped in the second round of the Pac-10 Doubles Invitational after receiving a bye in the first.

    Diaz spent her freshman season at UC Irvine and played at the No. 1 position throughout 2000 ... Entering the season ranked No. 79 in singles, she advanced to the first round of the Riviera All-American tournament by defeating Stanford's Keiko Tokuda in the qualifier ... During the dual match season, Diaz upset current teammate and then No. 4-ranked Jewel Peterson when USC defeated UCI on Jan. 20 ... Named to the All-Big West first team in singles and received honorable mention honors in doubles ... She was selected to compete at the 2000 NCAA singles championships - the first UCI player to qualify since 1983 ... At the championships, she fell to San Diego's Zuzana Lesenarova in the first round ... Finished the season ranked No. 74 by the ITA with a 16-7 record in dual matches, 27-13 overall singles record and 8-3 doubles mark.

    Diaz is a 1999 graduate of Mayfield Senior High in Pasadena, Calif. ... A four-time all-league honoree, she was named the league's MVP each season ... Reached the CIF semifinals as a junior and senior ... She garnered All-CIF honors as a senior ... In 1999 she helped lead her team to the CIF quarterfinals ... Finished her prep career undefeated in regular season matches ... Upon graduating, she ranked No. 4 in Southern California Junior doubles and No. 20 in singles by the USTA ... A 1998 Easter Bowl finalist ... Was awarded the George Mayer Scholarship as a prep.
