Sarah Pomeroy enters her third season in the USC program after transferring from William Smith College in 2002... Rowed with the Varsity Eight during the 2004 season... At the No. 6 seat, led crew to a third-place finish at Pac-10s and a 12th-place finish at NCAAs... Rowed with the Varsity Eight in 2003 in the No. 2 seat... Crew finished fifth at Pac-10s and sixth at NCAAs... Rowed at William Smith in 2002 under current USC head coach Kelly Babraj... Rowed with the Varsity Eight, which finished second at the 2002 Division III NCAA Championships... As a team, William Smith finished third... Named a 2002 CRCA Division III second team All-American.
During the summer of 2004, Pomeroy competed with the Riverside Boat Club (Cambridge, Mass.) and earned a first-place finish in Women's Senior Eights at the Canadian Henley (Ontario, Canada) and second-place finish in Women's Open Eights at the Cromwell Cup Regatta (Cambridge). Also captured gold medals in Women's Senior/Elite 4+ and 4-, and a silver medal in Elite Pairs at the U.S. Rowing Club Nationals (Camden, N.J.).
During the summer of 2003, Pomeroy competed with the Riverside Boat Club in Boston, Mass. ... The crew won the Women's Open Fours at the Independence Day Regatta (Philadelphia, Pa.) and captured the Females Points Trophy at the U.S. Rowing Club Nationals (Camden, N.J.) thanks to first-place finishes in the Women's Senior Eights and Women's Intermediate Fours.
Pomeroy is a 2001 graduate of Simsbury (Conn.) High... Rowed varsity for three years... Crew finished third at the 2000 and 2001 New England Interscholastic Championships and won the state public school championship in 2001... Also lettered in swimming for four years... Swim team captured state championship in 2001... An economics major who would like to attend graduate school.
