During the summer of 2003, Kaso captured a silver medal at the U.S. Rowing Club Nationals (Camden, N.J.) in Lightweight Eights and earned a sixth-place finish at the Canadian Henley in Lightweight doubles with USC teammate Brenda Bower... She also trained at the Wisconsin Lightweight Women's Olympic Development Camp.
Kaso is a 2001 graduate of Holy Names High in Oakland, Calif. ... Rowed three years as a prep... Her varsity four squad won gold medals at the 2000 Newport Autumn Rowing Festival and 2000 Head of the Estuary... She won bronze medals with the varsity eight at the California Junior Championships in 1999 and with the novice eight in 1998... Novice squad won a gold medal at the 1998 California Novice Regatta... Also rowed with the Southwest Junior National Development team in 1999 and 2000 at the four seat... Team won gold at the 2000 Syracuse Club Nationals and silver at the 2000 Junior Eight Open... A four-year California Scholastic Federation and National Honor Society member... Named valedictorian of her senior class... A political science major and law and public policy minor who hopes to pursue a career as a lawyer.
